Works ready for my show, so far...

Image
This is just the new stuff that is framed and ready to hang. Still working on other pieces that aren't framed yet.  Series of four, in different sizes, woven scraps from a larger work... Will probably hang them like this... or not. That decision will be made when we get to the gallery to hang the show. A1 offset prints, first and third or fourth pulls woven together. An abstract A1 offset press print. Decided this one was good without doing anything to it! One from last year that wasn't used that has been woven and embellished. This is framed too. but don't have a photo... will update later. These two are waiting for frames - we bought frames for them but they don't work so back to The Range again... And there are more, but no photos and still figuring out what to do with them.

Update

Things are ticking along with both getting work done and organizing my solo show. I gave up trying to find frames for my A1 prints... nothing we found (and bought) works. Anything that would hold the work (without having to trim) was not the same proportions as the work I wanted to mount. Finding frames for A1 with mounts is exasperating as the mounts only fit A3! Given what we paid for the oversized "cheap" frames in the first place?  Phfft! This way I don't have to deal with the work of getting them properly mounted - plus, for sale purposes, a professional framing job is way more desirable! I left two works with them, and the...

My Year Two Major Writing Project

Image
My year two essay is a continuation of my story of personal adaptation and experience in coping with deterioration vision. _______________________________________________________ Visual Interface: Resources for the Visually  Challenged      In the last few years I’ve come to accept that my vision isn’t going to stabilize. After eight years of receiving treatment for diabetic retinopathy, and accompanying complications (including cataracts,) there has been no improvement or slowing of deterioration.       Last month they operated to remove the cataract on my right eye. The change in my vision in that eye is amazing – the new lens has changed the “light” from a dingy yellow caste to a bright white. This change makes me realize how bad my left eye is and, luckily, surgery is now scheduled.       For years I’ve had difficulty with colour identification. I lost the ability to tell brown and purple apart, and many shades of green and...
