My first visit to Exeter
Yesterday was our trip to Exeter. The last time I was on a train in the UK was 2006. I'd been in Scotland and caught the train in Glasgow to get to a conference in Telford (I was one of the speakers/instructors.) Had to change trains in Wolverhampton... one of the scariest experiences I've ever had with trains. The worst was being in a train wreck on the way to Machu Picchu... but that's another story. There were a lot of hills in Exeter. My knees are still complaining. When we got back to Plymouth we walked up the hill behind the station to get to campus and halfway up the hill my thighs started to cramp. I've only ever had those types of cramps at night - I can't standup, have to sit hunched over on a stool and cry for 20-30 minutes before I can move. I was terrified they were going to go into full spasm but the ground leveled off and my muscles relaxed. As soon as I got home I knocked back a handful of medication and, thankfully, got through the night. Other than...
